The Broome County Urban League is hosting a bus trip to the Mohegan Sun Pocono Casino!! A day of playing hard, eating well, and having fun is in store for all that choose to make this journey with us! We will be leaving March 30th from 43-45 Carroll St. at 10am and returning to Binghamton at approximately 11pm that same evening! Hopefully with heavier pockets than when we left. Tickets are for sale at ONLY $65.00 per person!! Get em while they last!
The Broome County Urban League After-School Enrichment Program (A.S.E.P.) presented our "ART FROM OUR HEART" art exhibition. The families and community members were able to enjoy all the artistic works the A.S.E.P. children created. Congratulations to all the kids!
Phil Jordan provided an entertaining evening for all those in attendance for our Phil Jordan fundraising event. In this intimate gathering psychic readings were given to many of the diners and much was revealed.
We would like to thank all those who attended.
We had some last minute holiday shopping to get done! We had everything from beautiful art, candles, accessories for the home, jewelry and of course holiday decor! All from local vendors! Donations from several local businesses supported some fantastic raffles. We had such a lovely evening shopping and sipping wine with friends, all for a good cause. Proceeds benefitted the Broome County Urban League Youth and Family Programs.
The Broome County Urban League hosted a Fall Festival!! It will took place on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 at the St. Mary's Recreation Center. The event ran between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Children wore costumes, ate pizza, played games, collected candy and had faces painted!
The Broome County Urban League launched a new program to assist and prepare unemployed and under-employed individuals strengthen professional skills utilizing training programs and providing presentations toward their individual goals. This is an initiative with a focus on the City of Binghamton, where poverty rates are the highest in Broome, to help end the challenges people in poverty face. Participants recieve one-on-one attention and hands-on guidance to reach their individual career goals. We are proud to offer this new resource to the Broome-Binghamton community.
The Broome County Urban League welcomed our new Program Director of Youth and Family Support Services, Rebecca Porter, to launch our 2018 Afterschool Enrichment program. She comes to us with a lot of experience working directly with youth and families. She is looking forward to work alongside the families we serve to provide a safe place to care for and help children in our community to grow.
Thursday, August 30th 2018, the Broome County Urban League and three other non-profit organizations gathered together to volunteer at the 17th Annual Jim 'Mudcat' Grant All-Star Golf Tournament at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, NY. Through the generous support of sponsors such as Security Mutual, proceeds from this event benefit the four non-profits. The weather could not have been better and everyone was in great spirits. We were honored to participate once again in this event. We look forward to it every year.
